Scanner Trash? After receiving a nice note from Hans Proppe (who saw the NYT piece), I visited his site and saw his excellent direct-scan work. These reminded me of a similar experiment that I did a few years ago. No camera was used. No film. No Photoshop. Is this photography? Is it art? One thing for sure, as you'll see in the last images, it's a mess.

You Don't Know Where I've Been and frankly neither do I, if you're going to ask me where these pictures were made. There are hundreds of restaurants and pubs in this town, and I consistently fail to note an establishment's name when I enter, and by the time I leave, it's surely a lost cause.

These are high-bandwidth miniDV clips, so if you are using a modem, don't bother trying.
