I made plans to visit Europe. England is a safe place to start, I thought–
I speak the language and it's not that far.
I'll visit France as well, because we helped them during World War II.
I'll cross the Channel just like Grandpa
And know how it felt to land at Normandy–
Only without the seasickness, or a rucksack, or being rudely fired upon.
She agrees to go along, but she's never been to England and not even New York–
It's unlikely she knows of rucksacks.
