Photographed the Chinatown parade this morning. Neighborhood business owners hang long bunches of red paper firecrackers from their storefronts, and then ignite them after the ceremonial dragon pays a visit. The incessant blasts from the cheap explosives filled the air with putrid smoke, creating an opportunity to make pictures that resemble more of a war zone than a parade.
